We’ve used Austin’s Piano Service for the 2nd time in as many years. We are very happy with the service. We inherited our baby grand 2 years ago and it was never tuned. Our little girl is taking piano lessons and we wanted to ensure she learns on a tuned piano. His tuning takes about 2.5 – 3 hours and the prices are very reasonable. On top of it all, Austin is a very nice person with kids of his own, so we feel very comfortable with him coming into our home.

3 years ago I bought a house with a 110 year old baby grand that was completely unplayable. Austin spent hours bringing it back to life, his skill and love for pianos being very apparent. He has since been maintaining it and I proud to say that we have recently reached A435 – onward and upward!

Austin is extremely conscientious and thorough at tuning work. He tuned my 1963 George Steck upright to near perfection. I highly recommend him. When he is finished he will regale you with a piece from Debussy.

“Over the past two years, we have had the pleasure of working with Austin’s Piano Service to repair and tune our pianos at the Memorial West United Presbyterian Church in Newark, NJ. Austin King is a piano technician who treats each instrument as a tender patient in need of his care. From basic tuning to extensive restoration, Mr. King always seems to have the right antidote for whatever ails the instrument.

Four times a year, we present our Flatted Fifth Jazz Vespers Series, where we present many great jazz keyboard artists, like Norm Simmons and Freddy Cole. We always call on Mr. King to tune and prepare the piano for them on the day of the event. Frequently, we are complimented by the artists for the quality and tone of the instrument they played.

Austin, himself, is an accomplished pianist, trained in classical music, yet effectively adaptive to other genres, including jazz.
